Halloween is quickly approaching, and though your little gremlins may want to feast on the spoils of their trick-or-treating with abandon, this isn’t the best idea. To prevent cavities at this time of year, form a plan. This plan should protect your little monster’s teeth, but still allow him or her to enjoy the magic of Halloween.
Brush Away Candy Remains
Don’t let your child forget to brush their teeth because of all of the excitement! Make sure that your ghouls and ghosts brush their teeth twice a day for at least two minutes with fluoride toothpaste.
Candy Swaps
To keep your child from overloading on candy while still letting him or her enjoy trick-or-treating, consider having candy swaps. If your child swaps in a certain number of candies, they can get a small toy, or even a nicer toy that they’ve been wanting for a while. Candy could also be traded in for things like a trip to the park.
